Come celebrate as we bring our warm light into the darkness of winter. The waning half of the year is nearly over, so with this ceremony, using story, song and quiet reflection, our children will journey in and back out of the spiral bough garden, spreading the returning light. The children will be guided by a 5th grade angel along the spiral, each lighting an apple-made candle, and then they will place it along the spiral as they journey out. Honoring the hope that comes with the returning light, and deep-hearted trust in the things continuing to grow in this season's long, dark nights.

The spiral journey is done
silently, accompanied by the beautiful music of harpist Margot Krimmel. This is a quiet time to reflect and honor each child on their journey. Our intent for this celebration of winter is to illuminate our inner light and radiate it outward into the world. If you want to know more about the symbolism of this ceremony or the song we will sing, please read the attached PDF.

To help create the mood of this special evening, please help younger siblings sit very quietly with you. Children, as well as adults, may want to come in festive or more formal attire but no long dresses or skirts. Please be prompt arriving!  At the end of the ceremony, please leave as quietly as possible to extend the mood out into the night.
